When i was young(er), i'm thinking when I was driven around by my parents, before teenage years mostly.. I remember the excitement of going over the Hythe level crossing (Its now a bus route only and has been for at least 10 years I think) or the East Gates level crossing, (which had bells strung across the road either side of it to warn tall vehicles of the overhead wires)..
The excitement was hoping the orange light would come on before we got to it so the crossing would go down, we'd be stopped and i'd get to see some trains!
I suppose this is one of the reasons i'm so happy with the crossing in Trainz, finally hearing that annoying and pleasurable noise (in moderation) takes me back. Then the delay where the gates would close.
I look forward to the level crossing on the later half of the route which will be a modern style barrier! That will be even more nostalgic and exciting!
On from this, the reason I did this extra entry was due to wondering if a certain asset existed that would improve my crossing even further! I remember this item from other train journeys around the countries, including preserved lines (Where ones head would be out the window so would notice it).
I'm on about these cool flashing lights.. (Which I cannot find a video of).

Rather cool lights that are placed like a signal and show the train driver the crossing is operating, if the light is off they must not proceed.
This doesn't seem to exist for Trainz and would be a perfect addition to the ATLS level crossings as it would work just like the level crossing lights and could be the exact same script (I believe) just a different model.
I believe there's a photo of one of these lights or similar on this article from the FFestiniog Railway in Wales, A few years back they managed to link themselves with the Welsh Highland Railway by running a line through the town and down the roads. Rather cool! But not a cool driver in this article.

Anyway I hope my search for this asset takes me to it eventually, if it already exists or someone can knock it up!
