About this blog!

This blog is documenting and logging the progress of updating and rebuilding one of my oldest Trainz routes in tribute to a late companion simply known as Dukey.

The blog is here to help me log progress and compare shots, giving people an insight while helping myself also.

About the route/project

Dukey's Railway is a Trainz route set in the modern day (2000-2012). It is a fictional preserved railway which is attempting to be completed in two stages.

First stage = Bowery - Hopkins End
Second stage = Hopkins End - Railway museum (needing a new name)

Overall the route will be just under 30miles and requires TS12 and Settle and Carlilse add-on.

Aims + The finished product

I am a perfectionist but I have many ideas of how I want this to be..

A realistic route, although fictional, allowing realistic operations and activities.

Activites/Sessions which give the user a chance to drive with a purpose, using AI trains running to timetables and various activities for the user to do, such as driving a straightforward service to rescuing broken down trains.

An element of immersion created by history, back story and other things that would make you think this preserved line could be real.

Apart from the fact the railways mascot is a dog, I intend for the whole experience from activities to the route itself to be as realistic as possible!
